With every boy there is an Aqiqah, so spill blood on his behalf and remove the harm from him.

About Aqiqah

Everything you need to know before you give.

What is it?

Aqiqah is a recommended sunnah on the 7th day after a child's birth: one goat / sheep for a girl, two for a boy (or one share of a seven-share cow per child). The meat is divided into thirds, for the family, for relatives and friends, and for the poor.

If the 7th day is missed, the Aqiqah can be performed any time afterwards, even into adulthood.

Who pays it?

Parents, grandparents, or any guardian wishing to perform the sunnah on behalf of a newborn. Many adults also perform their own Aqiqah retroactively if it wasn't done at birth.

When is it due?

Ideally on the 7th day, or the 14th, or the 21st. If missed, any time after, there is no expiry.

How much?

One goat (girl): £130. Two goats (boy): £260. One share of a cow (girl): £75. Two shares of a cow (boy): £150.

How your gift is distributed

Following the classical sunnah, each Aqiqah animal is divided into three equal portions:

  • 1/3, for the family on whose behalf the Aqiqah is performed.
  • 1/3, for relatives and friends as a shared meal.
  • 1/3, for the poor and needy in Monuhorpur.

Where the donor's family is overseas, their share is redirected to additional needy households so no portion is wasted.

How we deliver

Slaughter: performed by trained halal slaughterers under Hanafi rulings, on the date you request (or the next available).

Distribution: meat parcelled within 24 hours and distributed locally, never frozen or shipped.

Confirmation: dedication certificate with the child's name and date of distribution emailed within 48 hours of completion.

Your impact

Where your gift lands

One goat feeds approximately 35 families for several days. The Aqiqah is performed in your name, the child's name is recorded, and we send a confirmation by email with the date of distribution.

Frequently asked questions

Can I name the child in the Aqiqah?

Yes, we record the child's full name and parents' names against the sacrifice. A dedication certificate with the distribution date is sent by email.

Is Aqiqah obligatory?

No, it is a strongly recommended sunnah (sunnah mu'akkadah in some madhhabs). It is not waajib, but it is highly encouraged where the family can afford it.

What if my baby is older than 7 days?

Aqiqah can be performed at any age, even into adulthood. If missed at birth, do it as soon as possible. Many supporters perform their own Aqiqah retrospectively.

Is the meat distributed ethically?

Yes. The animal is sacrificed by trained slaughterers in Bangladesh following full Islamic rulings. Meat is divided into thirds and distributed to family, friends, and the poor in Monuhorpur.
